Pre-Care
Please stop using scrubs, Retin-A, retinol, take-home microdermabrasion, glycolic, or other peels, exfoliants, or tanning products 72 hours before the appointment.
For a minimum of 6-12 months, you must stop taking Accutane.
If you have cold sores or herpes outbreaks in the area to be treated, you may need to start taking an antiviral medication one day before the treatment.
Post-Care
Here’s a condensed version of each point:
Use a mild cleanser twice daily for at least seven days.
For at least seven days, apply a hydrating moisturizer twice a day.
Steer clear of products containing exfoliating agents for 24 hours.
Avoid using scrubs, polishes, or aggressive brushes for at least 1-2 weeks.
Take at least 72 hours off from sun exposure after dermaplaning and use sunscreen.
Avoid excessive sweating and heat for 72 hours.
Avoid chlorine for 24 hours and facial waxing for one-week post-treatment.
Wait 2-4 weeks before getting dermal fillers or neuromodulator injections.
Skin will absorb products more effectively after dermaplaning.
You may experience slight peeling, windburn sensation, blotchiness, and product sensitivity for a few days.
Contact your esthetician if you experience post-dermaplane breakouts.
